On Saturday I went on a miniature shopping trip and bought a few make-up items that I would like to share with you! So I thought I would put them together in one make-up look and then show you how I did it. Here is a silent (I don't speak in it, it has music) showing you how I created my look and the step by step instructions can be seen below, I hope you enjoy it, let me know what you think!
1. First of all I made sure that my face was completely clean by giving it a wipe over with a make-up wipe, I use Tea Tree & Peppermint. Then I went on to apply my primer Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer, I find that I really don't need very much, just a tiny pea size blob will do my whole face. When you apply primer you need to make sure that you cover your whole face evenly to avoid dry/flaky patches when you come to foundation. Also I recommend gently swiping a small amount over both of your eyelids as this will form a great surface to apply your eyeshadow to.
2. After my primer I then apply my Collection (Collection 2000) concealer in Light , only on my blemishes and spots as I will do my under eyes later. make sure that when yo blend your concealer you pat it gent;y with the tips of your fingers as this makes sure that you do not lose any of the product whilst applying it. This concealer gives a great coverage as it is very strongly pigmented and so it is great for teenage skin, especially for those emergency spot covering moments!
3. Next I put on my foundation, I use Rimmel Wake Me Up in Ivory an I love it! This foundation gives a lovely dewy finish and sits very light on the skin. I apply my foundation with a brush, I actually made the brush I amusing myself from an old Kabuki brush. I work the foundation onto my face by starting at the most red part and circling the foundation out from there. I don't use very much as the foundation covers well and evens the skin tone nicely. Always make sure that you blend your foundation over the jawbone as this ensures that you do not develop a make-up line.
4. Now I move on to the eye make-up, I started with the Collection Eye Shadow Stick in Vanilla Sky as a base. To that I then added Natural Collection Eye Shadow in Asteroid to the outer half of my eye, i blended this right up to the brow. It is a good idea to keep a soft, clean brush to one side to blend with when you are doing a smokey eye look. Next I applied Natural Collection Eye Shadow in Crushed Walnut into the socket and worked it in until I was happy with the depth of colour.
5. Having applied all of my shadow I then applied my eyeliner, I went for a pencil liner Natural Collection Eye Lines in Soft Brown but liquid or gel liner would be just as good. I applied this across the top lid and put a small flick in the corner of the eye, i also blended the liner underneath my eye as well.
6.Final touch to the eyes was my new mascara Miss Sporty Waterproof Pump Up Booster 24h although very cheap the brush does wonders for my lashes! I always think it is best to buy a waterproof mascara, just in case! Also a good tip for applying mascara is to wiggle the brush from side to side to separate the lashes out and ensure good coverage on every lash!
7. Now I return to the face by applying the concealer under my eyes, this will also cover any make up that may have fallen down as well as my dark circles. Again dabbing the concealer gently to blend it helps to keep as much of the product on your face as possible. Once I have done this I apply a bit more foundation to the same area just to ensure that the colour is blended completely with the rest of my face.
8. Blusher comes next and I have chose Bourgouis Blush in Lilas D'or this blusher has a slight shimmer to and goes very well with the dewy foundation. To apply the blusher I used an angled face brush, smiled and applied the blusher to the apple of my cheeks then back towards my ears and slightly up towards my temple too. To set my make-up I always apply Rimmel Transparent Stay Matte Powder lightly over my whole face using a large, very soft face brush.
9. Finally to finish off this look I added Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish in 107. This is a very deep purple-red colour and it goes really well with the subtle brown eye make-up and adds a bold twist. To soften this look I would recommend using Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish 05 or Rimmel 1000 Kisses in Carry On Cherry.
